Chai

Vanilla is the key!

I've realized that it's the vanilla that makes the tastes blend together so well plus it just makes a very yummy cup. I tested out a Chai sampler to taste many of the different versions of chai blends on the market. My favorite cup was a Vanilla Chai, with some organic sugar*, organic cream, and a little added vanilla. THAT was the perfect cup for my taste buds!

So I've been thinking of trying some blends of my own. I thought of creating my own concentrates or extracts, like boiling down some: cinnamon sticks, whole nutmeg, vanilla beans and other whole spices found in many Chai blends. I'll surely blog through the process. :)

I'm thinking that some freshly extracted flavors, mixed by dropper amounts, made to personal taste, could be the best cup'o'tea ever.

* WHY ORGANIC SUGAR? I used to be a big fan of sweets, I'm talking choco-holic style. Well I also slowly started losing the ability to cope with the many stresses in my life at the time. I had realized that my sugar consumption was creating ADD style energy bursts that were hard to deal with at work. I also learned that in the process of refining sugar, important vitamins are stripped out. The lost nutrients make it so the pancreas cannot process the substance. Raw evaporated cane juice for example, has all the nutrients needed for absorption. I was told that processed sugar actually depletes the B-vitamin supply in the body making stress totally unmanageable. Please note that I am not a doctor, I am simply sharing my own personal journey and beliefs. I found it very beneficial to eliminate toxic things from my diet for a few months & see how I felt. Then once my body was cleansed of the substance, I would add it back and notice the effects it had on my body and mind. That was all the proof I needed to then eliminate it permanently. I now only consume Organic Sugar, Raw Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Turbinado, or Stevia (healthy cane sugar alternative).
